It’s amazing to think that our efforts beginning in 2014 through 2018 have resulted in the production of 87,500 wooden cars, in addition to the production of another 10,578 toys made with other materials. After hand crafting 6,350 toys in 2014, we increased the production each year, including 29,150 in 2018.
We are excited that we have expanded the types of toys we make. Originally our efforts were dedicated to only making toy wooden cars. Today we hand craft 10 unique toys, including airplanes, necklaces, flutes and chalkboards to reach girls and boys of all ages.
This labor of love is dedicated to supporting Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse which sends shoebox gifts to children around the world as a tangible representation of God’s love. Since its inception in 1993, Operation Christmas Child has distributed 157 million shoebox gifts to children between the ages of 2 and 14 in over 100 countries around the world.
Ninety-eight percent of the toys made by volunteers of Toys for Blessings are given to Operation Christmas Child in support of their outreach.
We are passionate about creating quality toys. We know that the quality of the gifts that go into a shoebox matters because it is the platform through which God’s love is shared. Our team is always working diligently in our woodworking shops to accomplish our annual goals knowing that each unique, handmade wooden toy will reach an equally unique child with the message of love and hope found in Jesus.
While our toys are free to use for packing a shoe box gift, we always welcome donations to cover the cost of producing these toys. On average, Toys for Blessings spends 30 cents to produce each wooden toy. With our cost of approximately $9,000 in 2018, we have received donations to cover 55% of this cost, or $5,000. Your consideration in donating to our efforts are appreciated and can be made by clicking here or the donate button in the menu of this site. There are no fees involved with the donation and you do not have to be a member to use PayPal.
Please pray for our efforts and consider packing shoebox gifts of your own. You can learn more on the Samaritan’s Purse website.
